About Dial Square
Dial Square collects Arsenal transfer reports, works out who first made each claim, and scores how likely each move is based on who is reporting it. It is an unofficial fan site.
Two numbers
Likelihood is how likely the move is to happen. Sourcing is how good the reporting behind it is. The two are kept separate. A top reporter saying a player is not coming is good sourcing and low likelihood. Six lower-tier outlets repeating the same rumour is poor sourcing, even if it nudges the likelihood up.
Who gets in
Only tier 0–3 sources from the r/Gunners reliability guide are used. Reports from anywhere else are dropped before they are stored. So are live blogs, opinion columns and gossip round-ups, even from good outlets. The tier guide lists every source and how the score is calculated. Each player page shows which reports moved the number.
Only the club can confirm a deal
A deal is marked signed only when Arsenal announce it on Arsenal.com. Until then, the furthest any reporter can move a story is Imminent.
Alerts
The Android app can notify you when Arsenal confirm a deal, when a story reaches advanced talks, when a well-sourced new target appears, or when a story moves quickly. You choose which alerts you get. They need no account or personal details; the privacy policy has the specifics.
Where it comes from
Each report is summarised in one sentence and links to the original article. Player photos come from Wikimedia Commons and are credited on each player page.
